To be honest and fair to RenewAmerica, I preface this post with the disclaimer that the views expressed by RenewAmerica columnists are their own and do not necessarily reflect the position of RenewAmerica or its affiliates.

Congratulations!

Yes, I wish to heartily congratulate RenewAmerica.com for a magnanimous contribution to our society. Many institutions are either unwilling or unable to provide resources for the mentally or intellectually challenged so that they might have an outlet for their creativity. RenewAmerica.com has proven themselves both willing and able, particularly in the case of allowing individuals who, in my opinion, present evidence of not being well-grounded in reality a platform where they might express their screeds against science and reason.

One particular article on their site was recently brought to my attention in a blog posting at Pharyngula. The article mentioned is entitled “Evolutionism: the dying West’s science of magic and madness” and was penned by Linda Kimball.

From her very first sentence (after quoting Daniel Webster) she gives us evidence of her apparent misconceptions of reality.

Heedless to the warnings of wise men like Daniel Webster, since the turn of the century increasing numbers of Americans have been turning their backs on the rational, personal God, and by extension, on the source of their humanity, and of their unalienable rights.

I’m quite sorry to disappoint Linda, but increasing numbers of people around the world have been disavowing the existence of mythological beings such as her god for much longer than “the turn of the century”. I might also caution her to be very careful when using that particular phrase, as the most recent “turn of the century” was less than ten years ago.

I had thought that Linda was referring to the Christian™ god, but because she used the word rational in its description, either an actual deity can be ruled out or we can assume that Linda does not understand the meaning of the word rational. As humankind’s knowledge of the Universe has increased, many of us have learned that we can leave childish ideas behind us. We can disregard the mythological stories of all-powerful beings who watch everything we do in order to punish or reward us based on our adherence to some arbitrary set of rules. We have become rational.

What is the source of my humanity? Personally, I would have to say that evidence of my humanity is within my genetic makeup, and its source can be traced back through the evolutionary history of all humans. If you go back far enough, the source of humanity is the source of all life on this amazing planet we live on. That source arose from the building blocks of proteins about 3.5 billion years ago through a process called abiogenesis.

I was unaware that anyone on this planet actually had unalienable rights of any kind. Most of my rights have been granted to me by the United States Constitution, and they may be altered by amending that document. Secular laws devised by human beings are enforced in the United States of America by various policing agencies. As we do not live under a theocracy (of any religious flavor), the religious laws espoused by any particular religion mean absolutely nothing to those who do not follow that particular religion. Your god has given you no rights that are enforceable within this country. Your fellow human beings have extended rights to you, expecting in return that you extend the same rights to them.

A Sad Continuation

The most unfortunate aspect of Linda’s article is that her first sentence is the single most intelligent, coherent thing she has to say. After her first paragraph, she quickly dives into some sort of state wherein she equates secularism with new age spirituality, and goes on about the intelligentsia (also known as the “counter culture”) which have been running the world since the Renaissance in their attempt to cause the downfall of Christianity and the establishment of a New World Order.

I’m forced to come to the conclusion that Linda might be delusional, might read too much Dan Brown, and/or might need to get her meds refilled.

Linda also shows herself to be a bigot. She seems rather upset about a Department of Justice job listing because of this text:

The Civil Rights Division encourages qualified applicants with targeted disabilities to apply. Targeted disabilities are deafness, blindness, missing extremities, partial or complete paralysis, convulsive disorder, mental retardation, mental illness, severe distortion of limbs and/or spine. Applicants who meet the qualification requirements and are able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation are encouraged to identify targeted disabilities in response to the questions in the Avue application system seeking that information.

Part of Linda’s response included this:

You read correctly: The DOJ is encouraging job applications from the mentally ill, those with convulsive disorders, the mentally retarded (hear that, Rahm Emmanuel!), the blind, the deaf and the immobile to work as government lawyers. Perhaps we should be thankful that the list did not include the transgendered, transsexuals, hermaphrodites, transvestites and those still uncertain.

It seems that Linda has something against people with certain disabilities. It seems she also has something against people who don’t measure up to her own particular definition for what’s normal when it comes to gender or sexuality. In my opinion, this makes her nothing more than another pathetic bigot whom I would not bother to piss on were she on fire and pleading for help.

It seems that Linda may have been unable (or unwilling) to read the required qualifications for that particular job posting. Of course, it’s possible that she did read them, but decided that they only refuted her point so she should ignore them. Here are the requirements:

Applicants must possess a J.D. degree, be an active member of the bar in good standing (any jurisdiction), and have a minimum of three (3) years post-J.D. experience. Applicants must have substantial litigation experience, such as handling discovery, litigation strategy, motions practice, brief writing, interviewing witnesses, taking and defending depositions, trial preparation, trial practice, and negotiations. Applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills, be mature and self sufficient, communicate effectively orally and in writing, and possess excellent professional judgment.

Anyone who can meet those requirements, whether they are mentally retarded, suffering from a convulsive disorder, or a transsexual, has every right to apply for the position, and deserves no less consideration than any other applicant. Anyone who believes otherwise is a pathetic bigot, as I mentioned before.

My Recommendations

I would recommend that Linda continue to post regularly, as it can be very therapeutic. I sincerely hope that her misconceptions and delusions do not adversely affect her day-to-day life. I might also suggest that when she again feels the need to find quotes for “What Some Scientists are Saying About Naturalistic-Evolution”, she should perhaps not go so far back as 1923, but additionally should use quotes more recent than 1976. Quoting scientists who actually study biological evolution as part of their daily lives would also be a big plus. Either that or she could change the section heading to “What Some Scientists Who Were Not Biologists Said About Naturalistic-Evolution 35 to 87 Years Ago”

410 years ago today a man was killed because of what he believed.

Giordano Bruno believed that the Earth is not the center of the Universe. He believed that our sun is but one of countless moving objects in our Universe. He believed that there are many worlds such as our own throughout the Universe. He believed that the stars we see at night are very much like our own sun. He believed that Mary, who Christians call the mother of Jesus, was not a virgin at the time of Jesus’ birth. He questioned Jesus’ divinity.

The Roman Inquisition found him guilty of heresy, for which he was burned at the stake at the Campo de’ Fiori in Rome.

Ten years ago today, Roman Catholic Cardinal Angelo Sodano described Giordano Bruno’s death as a “sad episode”. Cardinal Sodano continued to defended Bruno’s murderers, claiming that the inquisitors “had the desire to preserve freedom and promote the common good and did everything possible to save his life.”

I fail to see how the good Cardinal equates the preservation of freedom and attempting to save a mans life with attempting to force that man to deny his own beliefs. Violence and force are always used by such people when coercion by other means fails.

I’ve never been terribly fond of music which is lumped into the Rap or Hip Hop categories, though some of it I find quite likable. I recently heard music from a group called Die Antwoord. They are from Cape Town, South Africa, and something about their work keeps it running in my head at times.

Here is their track “Enter The Ninja”.

Judith

You’re such an inspiration for the ways that I will never ever choose to be
Oh so many ways for me to show you how your savior has abandoned you

Fuck your god
Your lord, your Christ
He did this
Took all you had and
Left you this way
Still you pray, never stray, never
Taste of the fruit
Never thought to question why

It’s not like you killed someone
It’s not like you drove a hateful spear into his side
Praise the one who left you broken down and paralyzed
He did it all for you

He did it all for you

Oh so many ways for me to show you how your dogma has abandoned you

Pray
To your Christ, to your god
Never taste of the fruit
Never stray, never break, never
Choke on a lie
Even though he’s the one who
Did this to you
Never thought to question why

It’s not like you killed someone
It’s not like you drove a spiteful spear into his side
Talk to Jesus Christ as if He knows the reasons why
He did it all for you

He did it all for you

He did it all for you

I figure that ten years from now most people won’t remember most of those artists either, so it’s easier for me not to bother in the first place.

There are countless numbers of people who aren’t familiar with Leonard Cohen. He has been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the American Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He is a Companion of the Order of Canada, the nation’s highest civilian honor. Lou Reed has described Cohen as belonging to the “highest and most influential echelon of songwriters”. I won’t even bother to delve into who Lou Reed is, for those of you who might be at a loss.

On February 19, 2009, Cohen played his first American concert in fifteen years at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. He’s 75 years old now, and continues to write and perform wonderful music. Here is Democracy, from his 1992 album The Future. Truly great music never goes out of style.

Democracy

It’s coming through a hole in the air,
from those nights in Tiananmen Square.
It’s coming from the feel
that this ain’t exactly real,
or it’s real, but it ain’t exactly there.
From the wars against disorder,
from the sirens night and day,
from the fires of the homeless,
from the ashes of the gay:
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.
It’s coming through a crack in the wall;
on a visionary flood of alcohol;
from the staggering account
of the Sermon on the Mount
which I don’t pretend to understand at all.
It’s coming from the silence
on the dock of the bay,
from the brave, the bold, the battered
heart of Chevrolet:
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.

It’s coming from the sorrow in the street,
the holy places where the races meet;
from the homicidal bitchin’
that goes down in every kitchen
to determine who will serve and who will eat.
From the wells of disappointment
where the women kneel to pray
for the grace of God in the desert here
and the desert far away:
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.

Sail on, sail on
O mighty Ship of State!
To the Shores of Need
Past the Reefs of Greed
Through the Squalls of Hate
Sail on, sail on, sail on, sail on.

It’s coming to America first,
the cradle of the best and of the worst.
It’s here they got the range
and the machinery for change
and it’s here they got the spiritual thirst.
It’s here the family’s broken
and it’s here the lonely say
that the heart has got to open
in a fundamental way:
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.

It’s coming from the women and the men.
O baby, we’ll be making love again.
We’ll be going down so deep
the river’s going to weep,
and the mountain’s going to shout Amen!
It’s coming like the tidal flood
beneath the lunar sway,
imperial, mysterious,
in amorous array:
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.

Sail on, sail on …

I’m sentimental, if you know what I mean
I love the country but I can’t stand the scene.
And I’m neither left or right
I’m just staying home tonight,
getting lost in that hopeless little screen.
But I’m stubborn as those garbage bags
that Time cannot decay,
I’m junk but I’m still holding up
this little wild bouquet:
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.

Yes, Crimbo is nearly at an end, though the spirit of the day should remain with us at all times. Respect for our fellow humans [Remember: People deserve some amount of respect as a human being; ideas (like religion) do not deserve my respect.], treating others as you would be treated, and generally not being an asshole. There’s nothing inherently religious in any of that.

During the winter months, as at other time of the year, my musical tastes gravitate toward certain music that I associate with the season. That association may not mean anything to others, nor would it be easy to explain in some cases.

This song, though not a Crimbo song, is one that I enjoy listening to during the winter months in particular. It is a tribute to singer-songwriter Nick Drake, who died of an antidepressant overdose in 1974.

Here is The Dream Academy with their song Life in a Northern Town, on the December 21, 1985 airing of Saturday Night Live.

Life in a Northern Town

A Salvation Army band played
And the children drank lemonade
And the morning lasted all day,
All day
And through an open window came
Like Sinatra in a younger day,
Pushing the town away
Ah -

(Chant)
Ah hey ma ma ma
Life in a northern town.

They sat on the stoney ground
And he took a cigarette out
And everyone else came down
To listen.
He said “In winter 1963
It felt like the world would freeze
With John F. Kennedy
And the Beatles.”

(Chant)
Ah hey ma ma ma
Life in a northern town.
Ah hey ma ma ma
All the work shut down.

The evening had turned to rain
Watch the water roll down the drain,
As we followed him down
To the station
And though he never would wave goodbye,
You could see it written in his eyes
As the train rolled out of sight
Bye-bye.

(Chant)
Ah hey ma ma ma
Life in a northern town.
Ah hey ma ma ma
Life in a northern town.

Yes, I know I shouldn’t be giving away secrets like this. Your family members would probably come after me with a mob of villagers carrying torches and pitchforks if they only knew what I was about to divulge.

[Look left… Look right… Coast is clear.]

It’s okay if you don’t really believe in God.

Yes, I’m talking about the Christian God specifically at this point, but it applies just as well to any other God.

Oh, come on… Wipe that horrified look off of your face. No one is coming to haul you off to be tortured on the rack or burned at the stake. Things aren’t quite like they were five hundred years ago during the Spanish Inquisition.

Some people seem not to ‘believe’ as strongly as others. Are you one of these people? Let’s look at an everyday situation that you might encounter and see how you might react to it.

You are at work, or at school, and at Noon you go to eat lunch. You sit at a table with a young woman that you know, but don’t really spend time with away from work. During luncch she casually mentions that she recently took out an insurance policy, and that the price was pretty reasonable. What was the insurance policy for? She insured her pets’ continued care in the event that she is bodily taken into heaven in the Rapture.

Please don’t snicker like that. The woman is absolutely serious. And yes, there is such a service available. The fee starts at US$110 for a ten-year policy, with each additional pet at the same residence costing only an extra US$15.

My question for you is whether you think this woman is a very rational person who happens to be looking out for the welfare of her pets, or if you think that you might want to sit at a different table the next time you have lunch because she sort of creeps you out.

Now let’s look at another scenario. I read about this in September, and found it to be rather interesting. This is from the ‘Answers in Genesis’ web site, in a post titled “Feedback: A Righteous Lie?”, written by Bodie Hodge.

A reader of the site wrote in to ask a question regarding lies. Bodie had written in a previous post that it was always wrong to lie. The reader asked if a person in World War II Germany who knew where a Jewish family were hiding would in fact be righteous to lie to a Nazi soldier who asked them where the family was. If the person lied to the Nazi soldier to protect the Jewish family, would that not be more righteous than telling the truth, knowing that the family would die horrible deaths in concentration camps?

This small part of Bodie’s post should give you the gist of his answer:

If we love God, we should obey Him (John 14:15). To love God first means to obey Him first—before looking at our neighbor. So, is the greater good trusting God when He says not to lie or trusting in our fallible, sinful minds about the uncertain future?

Bodie says that obeying God comes first, period. The possibility that you might save a family from horrendous torture and death does not compare to the damage you cause to your soul by lying.

My question for you is whether or not you would lie in an attempt to protect someone from almost certain, unjust death. Do you place the physical well-being of yourself and your loved ones above being completely faithful to God, or do you put your faith in God above all else, no matter what your reasoning might tell you? Does your duty to obey God come before everything else in your life?

If you don’t really believe as strongly as the people in the scenarios that I mentioned, why not? Do you think they take the Bible too literally? Who gets to say what in the Bible is supposed to be literal, and what’s supposed to be allegorical? Who told you which parts are which? Did you take their word for it, or did you come to those conclusions on your own?

Do you really believe? Why?

If you’re able to ask questions about your faith, I think that’s a good thing. Most people who would buy Rapture insurance for their pets, or would always tell the truth (or so they say), regardless of the consequences, would tell you that asking those sort of questions is evil, or is a tool of Satan, etc. For them, blind faith is the only true faith, just as their version of Christianity is the only true version.

Just do a tiny little favor for me the next time someone you trust, whether it be a relative, a friend, a minister, or whatever, tells you that you should be acting a certain way or should believe a certain thing in regards to religion. What’s the favor? You don’t have to say anything out loud, or do anything that might make someone think you’re crazy, etc. I want you to ask yourself why you think you should act that way or think that way.

If you really don’t agree with the person about that thing, then why do you act or believe other things they tell you? Who says what you must accept or reject? Do you accept someone telling you that that’s the way it is because the Bible says so? The way I see it, you have to make those decisions for yourself. Anyone who tells you differently is on some kind of power trip and is trying to control you. You don’t have to have faith in a God just because someone said you have to, no matter who that person is.

Please do that little favor for me. Maybe it will help you learn to really think for yourself. Maybe it will help you realize that you only have to believe what you want to believe.

Today is the anniversary of a milestone in the fight for human rights. On 10 December 1948, the United Nations General Assembly approved the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The declaration represents the first global expression of rights to which all human beings are entitled. I previously mentioned the UDHR in my post on Blasphemy Day International.

In the voting for the declaration, forty-eight nations voted in favor, and none voted against. Was the vote unanimous? Not quite: There were eight countries which abstained.

Which countries decided not to cast a vote at all? Byelorussia, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Ukraine, USSR, and Yugoslavia all abstained. Do you think the USSR, at a time when Joseph Stalin was in power, had some influence in those decisions? South Africa abstained. Do you think that the fact that apartheid was made an official policy in the general elections held just seven months earlier, in May of 1948, had something do do with their decision? Saudi Arabia abstained. Perhaps conflicts between the declaration and some concepts of Shari’ah (Islamic religious law) influenced their decision.

Take note of those abstentions. Those countries wished nothing more than to have leave to continue their own particular policies which restricted or denied basic human rights.

The fight for human rights certainly did not end with the adoption of the UDHR. It rages on still today in far too many parts of the world. Groups still inflict their particular brands of hatred and oppression on those they consider to be beneath them. Other groups plot and scheme to find ways to do the same to people not yet under their control.

The fight will never actually come to an end. Even if every man, woman, and child on our planet could be found to have been treated with dignity and respect by every other person on Earth, vigilance would still be required to ensure that those rights were never usurped again.

The contact form here on my blog gets rather little use. Most people who have something to say will say it in post comments, or email me directly (providing they have my address). The other day I received a rather strange email which was posted from the contact form.

The message was unsolicited. It was from a person I’d never heard of. I don’t know if the person used their real name, but they did use a valid, working email address. I replied to the contact form email and received a reply in return. In the event that this person is not who he says he is, I intend to leave his surname unpublished. For now, I’ll just call him Kevin.

If he’s using the correct name, I’m thinking that he may be a guy who claims to be “the one man who’s seen: The face and the form of Father God. The face and the form of the Devil.” Certainly no delusions there, right? Let’s see what this particular evangelical conspiracy nut had to say. I’ll break it up with my own commentary so as not to flood your brain with too much tin-foil-hat-crazy at any one time.

Hi Dan J,

Whatz-up? Liken the change so far? Do you think I could get a free $bi!!ion$ or so or is that reserved for the politically connected filthy rich? See, looks to me like economist John Maynard Keynes had it pigeon holed when he said, “There is no subtler, no surer means of overturning the existing basis of society than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction and it does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose.”

Wow. Did he really type “Whatz-up?”? Yeah, he did. If he’s trying to sound all ‘hip’ and ‘with it’ so he can be down with all the ‘jive talk’ the young folks are using on this Internet thingy, then he’s already failed miserably.

Let’s see: “Liken the change so far?” I really think he needs to invest in a good dictionary, and learn how to use it. The word ‘liken’ is used to compare two things. For example, I would say, “I liken this email that I received to a pile of steaming dog shit that I found on my lawn: It’s not earth-shattering, but it stinks like shit.” I could hazard a guess that he meant to use a contraction for the verb ‘liking’, again in some vain attempt to sound ‘hip’.

I’m also going to have to assume that he’s thinking because I’m rather liberal that I’m a big Obama supporter. Obama is a politician. I have a dislike of politicians that crosses party lines. I’m a Socialist, not a Democrat. I prefer the leading liberals to the neo-cons, and I’m not going to kid myself by thinking that any member of the Socialist Party is going to snag a high-profile national office any time this century. I’m also a pragmatist.

Another wow! I don’t know about the rest of you, but the term ‘$bi!!ion$’ just jumps right out and screams ‘n00b’, when I see it.

As for the quote from Keynes, I don’t particularly give a shit about Keynesian economics. I’m guessing that the author of the email doesn’t either. He probably just read the quote on a web site somewhere and it fit his preconceived notions, so he decided to use it.

Now the question would seem to be, what is the purpose of overturning the existing basis of society?

Ahhh, that is the question, isn’t it?

Well, that wasn’t my question. My question actually had to do with whether or not the author had taken his meds in the days leading up to typing this missive. The author seems to think that money is the existing basis of society. I guess he’s a Libertarian.

How about the fact there is a hell-bent, private, international banking cartel determined to control the entire world?

Now I guess I could pause here and ask if you agree with me and wait for your response. Or not! Why don’t I just keep going?

Probably a good idea to just keep going, because I’m certainly not agreeing with that crap. Yeah, I knew he was a serious conspiracy nut when I got to that point. I bet he’s going to go on about the Bilderberg Group next. I’m also guessing that he’s a big fan of Alex Jones and David Icke. I wonder if he visits Prison Planet on a regular basis?

If the bankers control the world, what’s wrong with that some may ask. The answer is, they always want more! And more for them inevitably means less for you and I. Want to know more about the insidious plan that’s been afoot to eliminate the middle class and separate permanently the filthy rich from the peons?

www.richdad.com/conspiracy-of-the-rich.

That’s a link to a real good source of information. Robert Kiyosaki is his name, and if you’ve never come across this stuff before it’ll blow the lid on your mind, man.

I’ve got news for the author. It doesn’t take an insidious plan to widen the divide between the ‘haves’ and the ‘have nots’: all it takes is greed. We’ve all witnessed this greed in action recently: It came from people like Bernie Madoff. The big difference between Bernie and others of his ilk is that he was raping people illegally, while the Wall Street executives were raping the rest of us legally.

“…it’ll blow the lid on your mind, man.” Has anyone legitimately used that phrase since Cheech and Chong’s Up In Smoke was playing in theaters nationwide? I didn’t think so.

The author doesn’t seem to realize that Robert Kiyosaki writes those books to make money. Kiyosaki is primarily a motivational speaker. He really doesn’t offer financial advice or tips because he doesn’t have much in the way of expertise in these areas. What’s his big line of thinking? He suggests that people focus on generating passive income by means of investment opportunities like real estate and businesses. He thinks the ultimate goal is to be able to support yourself by such investments alone. He is prime evidence, in my opinion, of the kind of fuckhead who put us into the financial mess we are currently experiencing. He’s not part of the solution: he’s a large part of the problem. He’s making money from his books, not his own advice. He’s another con man in a long line of con men.

But it gets worse. You knew I was going to say that, didn’t you? You see, Dan, the whole reason the bankers want to dominate the world and put RFID chips in everyone is because they also want you to worship the Devil. That’s a fact that a lot of bankers probably don’t even know. I know, I know, you’re laughing out loud right now. So why don’t you check out another link to this site:

http://www.illuminati-news.com/moriah.htm

Search for the “Interview with an Ex-Vampire” and sit through it. (Are you laughing again?) At the same site you can find out about all kind of weird things, and even learn that there are people that actually believe in and worship the . . . Devil!

I should have known from the start. This guy is way off the deep end.

Bankers want to put RFID chips in people so that they can rule the world by forcing people to worship the devil? No, I’m not laughing out loud. Once again I’m wondering if the author has taken his anti-psychotic medication.

If you point to an article entitled “The Secret Order of the Illuminati (A Brief History of the Shadow Government)” as a good source of info, then expect rational people to take you seriously, you will be sorely disappointed. I don’t even know where to begin with the Illuminati bullshit. Let’s just say that it’s bullshit.

On the other hand, The Illuminatus! Trilogy is a masterpiece of modern American literature. I highly recommend it to anyone with a sense of humor. I’ve read it several times, and will certainly read it again.

I’m sorry, but the people who believe in ‘The Devil™’ are Christians. People involved in the Church of Satan don’t actually worship ‘The Devil™’, and neither does anyone else, except in the minds of paranoid delusional Christians such as the author of the insane ramblings I received.

What’s that have to do with the coming destruction of America? Well, do yourself another favor and search for, (it’s really hard to find because they don’t want anyone to know) the only battles that West Point Military school doesn’t use for templates to teach battlefield tactics and strategies. Give up? Well hell yes—it’s Israel! Because the only way they have won these battles and wars is inexplicable to explain. Or in other words . . . God alone caused the victories.

Or not . . . yeah, right. And I have property for sale on Mars, too.

Guess what nation is the only nation to become a nation after becoming extinct in the entire history of the World? Want a hint?

Coming destruction of America? Was a date set? I should mark it on my calendar in case I get other appointments for that day. I could clue the author in on several other things, but I’m guessing it wouldn’t make it through the tin-foil hat. Please provide documentation regarding military strategies as taught at West Point and the sources of said strategies.

The author’s command of the English Language is astounding: “…inexplicable to explain.” Let me see if I understand this correctly; the Isreali military wins seemingly unwinnable battles because of direct interference by Yahweh. Wow. If I were the Israeli military, I’d get a different advisor/helper, because Yahweh seems to be doing a fairly shitty job of it.

The only nation to become a nation after becoming extinct… The author doesn’t seem to grasp that the word ‘extinct’ is definitely not the right word to use there. It’s a nation, not an animal species. Did this guy pass his 7th grade grammar classes, or not? It doesn’t seem that he’s heard of the Republic of Serbia or the Republic of Croatia either. Maybe he should read more legitimate information sources.

Pissed you off yet?

Hey, I haven’t even gotten to the good stuff yet!

I have no idea why the author thinks that what he’s written thus far would piss me off. I definitely question his sanity, but I’m certainly not pissed off. This next part is long and rambling.

So here’s the good stuff—one God alone created the universe—your mind is just too small Dan J—we’re God’s dream—you do dream, don’t you? (I’m not talking about nasty disgusting filthy evil wicked abominable thoughts, I mean real REM dreams, my friend) and in this dream of Almighty God—there is an adversary—the Devil is his name, or Satan if you prefer, who also was once called Lucifer, (the root for the word luck by BTW) and he has a goal—keep you! You can’t sell your soul to the devil, he already owns it! But, you can let God buy it back . . . That’s what the Blood of Jesus can do for you, Dan J—pluck you out of the clutches of a real, genuinely enraged, lying devil. And the reason he hates you is because you remind him of . . . God. And his biggest lie was to convince mankind that he didn’t exist. Or maybe that God didn’t either. And not only does he hate you and me, but he hates all humanity. But the dream—God is going to recreate all things new—including those who have been persecuted for Jesus’ name, or for being Jewish, and there is a resurrection from the dead because—Jesus Christ has abolished death. He just hasn’t enforced it yet in our narrow spectrum of reality.

Now how’s that for big news?

Sorry if these truths stretch your concept of reality.

Let me guess; that one God is Yahweh, right? Who knows what he means about my mind being too small. I always thought it fit inside my skull quite snugly. Does the author have PET scans I don’t know about?

We are God’s dream? I think he’s confusing his Judeo-Christian mythology with other mythological systems. Yes, I do have dreams (REM state dreams while sleeping). The author will have to explain what he means by “nasty disgusting filthy evil wicked abominable thoughts”. I’m guessing that some of the things I dream about wouldn’t qualify for his definition, even though they take place during REM sleep.

The author is simply wrong about the etymology of the word ‘luck’. It actually comes from 15th century Middle Dutch luc, a shortening of gheluc, meaning “happiness, good fortune,” which is of unknown origin. It is related to Middle High German g(e)lücke, and German Glück “fortune, good luck.” The base is of unknown origin, and certainly not by any evidence from the term ‘lucifer’. Unless this guy has special inside information he’d like to share with the wordsmiths of the world, he should probably keep his mouth shut about the etymology stuff.

The remainder of that paragraph (if you could call it that) is simply religious blather that makes no sense at all. Our narrow spectrum of reality? This dude has widened it up to include all kinds of bullshit that he’s made up inside his head.

P.S. God really does love you and wants to save you. But the deal is, you have to surrender on his terms. That gets you to let go of this world, and then he can pick you up. Look; I know it’s a lot and it’s deep but it’s all true too. So look up for your redemption draweth nigh! If you come to Jesus Christ with your whole heart, he can change you. If you give him your sinful life, he will give you his righteousness. He will give you perfect peace. He will even give you eternal life. But you can’t have both. Think about it, Dan.

The problem with life is it kills us all in the end.
The problem with sin is it causes death.
The problem with Jesus is he cannot deny himself.

Sorry if I was being blunt.

More religious blather that doesn’t actually mean anything, nor convey useful information. Blunt? No, he wasn’t being blunt. He was being psychotic. There is a difference.

I know you said not to be this way but you suggested it!
One more link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAaQNACwaLw
The Obama Deception HQ Full length version
This is really killer, dude. It explains why the world is so very one-sided.

See ya!

Kevin ??????

I said not to be what way? Did I tell people not to be psychotic? I wish it were that easy. What did I suggest? Did I suggest that the author find more conspiracies to believe? No. One suggestion I do have for the author of this amazing piece of drivel is to seek professional psychiatric assistance. I do not mean some guy from the church who attended a psychology seminar at a church retreat two years ago. I mean a licensed, practicing psychiatrist.
