Yet Another Cover
I mentioned something about an artist taking a song originally recorded by another artist and making it their own. That’s what this one is for me. (What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding was written and originally recorded by English musician Nick Lowe. The best known recording of the song, however is by Elvis Costello & The Attractions. As much as I enjoy that particular version, there is another that I like and would like to share with you.
The group A Perfect Circle (including Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan) recorded a version for their album eMOTIVe, which is an album comprised of covers (primarily of a political nature). Here’s their version:
